When Brittany was in the stages of planning for her wedding, she and Nick decided on the gorgeous destination of Breckenridge, Colorado to tie the knot. She had found an image of this incredible mountain overlook and knew that was what she she wanted. However, this couple lives in beautiful Northern Michigan and still wanted their engagement session at "home". Initially Brittany contacted me just for the engagement session, but when I asked about her wedding day plans and she said they were having a destination wedding, I let her know WE DO TRAVEL!!!

Ok, back on track. Their engagement session was an amazing winter one, complete with ice caves/formations. Brittany and Nick were so easy to work with and I knew their wedding day was going to be so much fun and an absolute dream. And they knocked it out of the park.
So along came their wedding day. Leading up to it, I had been seeing Brittany's posts about Breckenridge all week long with them seeing moose in the back yard of their rental house and just general Colorado amazingness and couldn't wait to get out there! Their wedding day broke with blue sky and abundant sunshine. It was smack dab in the middle of peak color season and the aspen trees were brilliant yellows. Mixed in with the evergreen on the mountain sides, it was just gorgeous. With just a small handful of family to celebrate the day with them, Brittany and Nick's wedding was intimate, perfect, and one of the most beautiful we have ever photographed. Here's some from their love story...
We started off at a local salon with the bride and her family getting their hair and makeup wedding-worthy.
After hair and makeup was finished, we traveled back to the bride's rental house to get the dress on! It had stunning views of the land!!
After we put the finishing touches on getting ready, we headed to the ceremony location, Sapphire Point in Breckenridge. It was an amazing location that we actually shot at the day before with a gorgeous engagement session (which is a whole other blog post!!). I was so happy to be photographing the ceremony here...it was completely like something from a dream!
It never ever, ever gets old...that seeing the look on a grooms face when he sees his bride for the first time on their wedding day. Wether it is walking down the isle or at a first look with just the two of them, I can photograph that all day long.
After we finished up at Sapphire Point, we traveled up to Loveland Pass, about 12,000 ft in elevation. You can juuuuust make out patches of snow in the tops of the mountains (in September!) I believe this is the highest elevation road in the WORLD that is accessible year round. After driving up this, I'm ready to hand out awards to the plow trucks that maintain this mountain pass in the winter!!
And this is one of my absolute favorite spots now in the USA. It was incredible. We just about had the place to ourselves and photographing this gorgeous bride and groom at sunset here? Absolute photography heaven.
As much as I did not want that sun to set, it was time for continuing back to one of the family's rental houses for the reception! Backyard, around the fire pit, on one of the most gorgeous Colorado evenings? And with PIZZA for dinner? So. much. yes.
