Julie and Josh's wedding took place on the beautiful Drummond Island, at the Drummond Island Resort, always a favorite of ours to photograph at!! Located just a short ways from Traverse City, this island is such an adventure, from the ferry ride over, to the wild nature of the land, and a hundred other things that make having a wedding here so special. Drummond Island has a very special meaning to Julie and Josh and their wedding was an absolute dream. The flowers (oh goodness, the brides bouquet alone was a showstopper!), the chuppa, the location, the food...it was all amazing and made for an incredible day. Absolutely a favorite of ours from this season!! Here are some images from this couple's story...
We started out photographing the couple's first look! A first look is a GREAT way to shake off some of those nerves...and provides for a few quiet moments to yourselves before everything gets hectic and the day passes in a blur. I love first looks for many reasons and this is one of them!
Julie and Josh's pre-ceremony included the signing of the ketubah. Their ketubah was so beautiful!!
The chuppah used for the ceremony was just perfection with the flowers and greenery.
After the ceremony, the guests enjoyed a cocktail hour with amazing appetizers. Including frog legs!
...and this cake. SO gorgeous!! Like everything for this wedding was!
During cocktail hour, we had a few moments to sneak the bride and groom off for a few portraits.
I'm a total fan of an oversized wedding bouquet and this one was a stunner. Absolutely perfect!!
After dinner we were able to go down by the boathouse at the resort for a few more portraits.
The evening then continued with lots of dancing!!
