I first got in touch with Emma and Matt thru Matt's sister and her fiancé (you can see their amazing engagement session HERE) when they were looking for a photographer once they became engaged. I was SO excited that Emma and Matt wanted their engagement session done in the Upper Peninsula AND in the winter. I seriously love everything about the spring/summer/fall, but there's something about a winter engagement session, and in Michigan no less, that's perfect in every way. I love that it's such a contrast from their Minnesota wedding later this year, and will round out their "story" so perfect.
These two had a few ideas of what they wanted for the session and I loved incorporating them into our shoot. Emma and Matt, such a lovely couple to begin with, just rocked out every shot! I love the way this session turned out, and here are some of my favorites!
We started out at the family cottage on the lake. Of course it being winter, it's covered in snow and you can't see any of the water...save for the ice fishermen out there!
I love that Emma wanted to get a few with her shirt of her soon-to-be last name! I believe it was all the girls in the family had them and Emma was just so happy to show hers off!
