I love living in Northern Michigan. Traverse City area has some of the best spots to just loose yourself adventuring around, the Upper Peninsula is just wilderness goodness, Mackinac Island is just...a place all it's own. I've shot a number of weddings and engagements on the Island and it's always a favorite of mine to travel to. It always will be! I cannot wait to blog more of the recent weddings we've photographed there, but for now, I'm going to share Amanda and Zac's engagement session.
These two beautiful people are SO. MUCH. FUN. Like, I wish our session could have lasted the entire day. We had a great time wandering around to some classic spots on the island and while we DID have to dodge in and out of the rain (which was NOT supposed to happen, but in true Michigan form, nature decided different). But that was ok, since we ended the session with an amazing, glowing sunset and rainbow! I'm SO excited to have this couple in front of my camera again in just another few months, for their winter wedding in the Detroit area!
Here are some favorites from their session!
I definitely wanted to take them some classic, iconic Mackinac Island places and the one of the most perfect places was of course the Grand Hotel!
Sadie's Ice Cream Parlor made for some SUPER fun and cute portraits. And of course you get ice cream. So it's a win all round.
A favorite. I mean, how can it not be...these two are just perfect!!
After we left the grounds of the hotel, we walked down to the lakeshore.
We continued walking towards downtown and captured portraits all along the way!
Classic, Iconic. This downtown stretch is a favorite of mine!
And then we ended the session with this rainbow. It was just blending into a gorgeous beam of light from the amazing sunset were were getting after a brief downpour, but you can still see some colors! We did get some with the colored rainbow and they are just perfect!!
