Eric and Erica's wedding day was a fairytale. From before the wedding all the way thru the reception, everything was magical. Erica's family has a beautiful cottage on Twin Lakes in Newberry, Michigan and we even shot their amazing engagement session here and on their property just down the road back in the fall of 2015. It's Erica's "happy place" and everything that day was perfect.
I need to pause for a minute over these shoes. These SHOES! A friend of Erica's (I *think* it is a cousin) made these for her for the reception. Beauty and the Beast is a favorite of mine, so I just died over these. Amazing, right?
And I HAD to use the shoes for a ring shot.
Not a dry eye in this room when Erica's dad came and saw her in the dress. It was beautiful.
Almost every person at the wedding came from out of town/state to celebrate the couple. It was an amazing group of family and friends!
There was a little time between the ceremony and reception, so we made use of no rain (yet) and did some images with the whole wedding party next door at their neighbors apple orchard. The blossoms were already off the trees by this point, but it still made for a gorgeous backdrop!
Definitely this wedding called for some celebrating!
That dress, though...
After a few images of the wedding party and the guys/girls, we went for a few images of just Eric and Erica by themselves. We did some in this spot at their engagement session and while we talked about getting in the canoe again on their wedding day, it didn't quite happen. Much to Eric's relief, I'm sure ;)
There was a pretty little bridge just a few minutes from the orchard that we also took a quick trip to.
Next came the reception!! A beautiful tent was put up behind the cottage for the reception festivities. The decor was elegant and amazing!
By this time some rain had moved in and the wind picked up a little. Shortly after this, the skies let loose and it POURED and POURED.
Desserts are my favorite (can I get an Amen??) The couple cut a small cake for themselves and had these GORGEOUS giant cupcakes for the guests. The canoli's are all homemade (YUM!) and one of Erica's relatives surprised her with these amazing mini-cheesecakes.
Hold on...let's just take a moment here at these cheesecakes...
By the time dancing rolled around, it was raining like we mentioned before. There were lawn games and such, but since the rain kept everyone inside, it made the dance floor even more fun! This group did not mind the rain one bit!
We did have to sneak a few pictures out in the rain. Eric and Erica were amazing for totally being up for it! I'm so glad, as these images are some of my favorite of the day.
Congratulations to an amazing couple, Eric and Erica!!
