Haley and Sam's wedding day was, for me, a day that could not come soon enough. We photographed this couple's engagement session on a beautiful spring evening just over a year before their wedding and I about cried buckets knowing I had to wait a while till I could get these two in front of my camera again...this time on their wedding day! Haley had contacted me several times thru the wedding planning process about various wedding day details (like my opinion on mismatched bridesmaids dresses -- ALWAYS will be a resounding YES in my book) and I was already obsessed with all her details.
So the day finally arrived, and it was an absolute dream. Gorgeous flowers and greens and modern takes on traditional details. It was a blast to photograph!! Here's some of their story:
Before getting on the dress, when you have matching robes for your bridesmaids, its a must to go out and take a few pictures!
Every bride needs a garter like this!
The couple chose to have a first look, and the platform leading down to the boardwalk at Terrace Bay Inn in Gladstone, MI was the perfect spot!
Hi-fives on the wedding day...YES!
And of course pictures with the couple's fur baby are a total must! Look at how adorable he is!!
Haley really made the most gorgeous bride, and it was super special to photograph her with her mother's picture, in remembrance.
...and then a walk down the isle.
After the ceremony, family portraits, and a lot of celebrating after, we headed to a local park along the shores of Lake Michigan for some wedding party photos.
These bridesmaids were amazing. AMAZING. So much fun and since most of them (bride included!) were former cheerleaders, we had to get a few extra fun poses. Hands down, Haley is one awesome bride for attempting this in her wedding dress!!
Back at the reception, there were some amazing details...like doughnuts. Enough said.
...and more doughnuts.
...and more crazy, delicious, perfect doughnuts.
Then at the end of our evening, we had a sparkler sendoff!
