Lindsey and Connor's wedding day was a glorious Northern Michigan summer day. They selected Mission Point Resort and the AMAZING Mackinac Island for their love story celebration and it was perfect in every way! From the nautical decor, to the happy tears from family and friends, to the slab of fudge instead of the traditional wedding cake, Lindsey, Conner, and their three children started the next chapter in their lives in the best way possible.
Their wedding started off at Mission Point Resort with the wedding taking place at the gazebo, and the reception on the promenade deck.
The little ships as seating assignments were all DIY. SO CUTE!
For a nautical wedding, having it on Mackinac Island was really quite fitting!
Ok. Let's pause just a minute here for the wedding cake (a.k.a. the most amazing looking slab of fudge you'll ever hope to see). If you've never been to Mackinac Island, I always tell people it smells like two things...fudge and horses. All along mainstreet in downtown Mackinac Island, you'll find a fudge shop just about every other store. And good reason, the fudge on the island is worth the trip itself. We always pick up a pound or two when we go over. And I'm absolutely obsessed with Lindsey and Conner having fudge for their cake!
The ceremony was held at the gazebo at Mission Point, a classic and iconic location. Surrounded by gorgeous landscaping and the shores of Lake Huron, it's a romantic spot to say "I do" as the start of your forever.
Again, if you've never been to the island before, you'll need to know that there's no motorized vehicles on the island (besides emergency vehicles of course). So everyone gets around either on foot, bicycle, or horses. If you are a bride and groom, no wedding day is complete without a horse-drawn carriage ride around the island.
After some images around the island with this sweet family, it was back to Mission Point for the reception and to celebrate!
...and of course more fudge. You can't go wrong with too much fudge.
...and sweets. Murdick's Fudge outdid themselves with all the fudge and desserts!
When that temptation is just too great.
